Profile and Organisation

The network consists of seven fine chemistry enterprises including the biotechnology branch. Associated partners are the research group ORGANIC & BIOORGANIC CHEMISTRY of the Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the ORGANIC SYNTHESIS & METALLOORGANIC KATALYSE research group of the University of Leipzig.

With its motto OUR CORE COMPETENCE IS CHIRALITY this network is conducting research and development projects in the field of chiral compounds, whereby the main focus is on pharmaceutical relevant enantiomers. The main activities and efforts are on the development and optimisation of new products and technologies and the ordered compound synthetisation and production of well established or new products as well. The development, optimisation and production of catalysts are also vital parts of this network’s expertise.

The Network Offers

  • complementary or alternative process technologies of small amounts on the 0.1 t scale
  • development of new catalysts for enzymatic synthesises
  • development of new ways of synthesis
  • production of precursor substances or agents on the tonne scale
  • a broad offer of search and development capacities
  • analytical and synthetically technologies for the production of chiral compounds

The 4chiral network Objectives

  • short information paths saving time an money
  • though priority is on intensifying communication between network partners enabling them to meet customer needs dynamically
  • concentration of competences within the network increases competitiveness of joined enterprises allowing them to enlarge their offers’ scale
  • major orders could be processed together by enhancing joined company positions
  • 4chiral iconic or emblematic for effective network marketing
  • the 4chirical network publicly presents itself, offering a broad range of business activities allowing partners to create new distribution channels and presentation opportunities which would be hard to achieve conventionally
